Welcome to The 'Ganny

The 'Ganny is an iconic spot, but it's humble at the same time. When you come here, you're among friends. When we took ownership of The Narragansett Cafe, we made a promise to preserve it and keep the live music playing. Keeping this piece of Jamestown history alive is important to both of us. Come on in and enjoy yourself.

Special

The ‘Ganny is a special place. A Jamestown icon, one of the last local spots, well-steeped in tradition. And it’s going to stay that way.

Award Winning

We don’t like to brag, but The Narragansett Cafe has been a perennial winner of best blues hangout, best neighborhood bar and best place for live music by Rhode Island Monthly.

The Crowd

The Narragansett Cafe opened in the 1940s and was mainly a fishermen’s bar. These days, the weekend crowd at ‘The Ganny is a mix of locals of all ages, visitors from out of town, and even the occasional celebrity blending in with the crowd.

Horseshoe Bar

Long, straight-style bars have become the standard, but the horseshoe-style bar is coming back in style, as trends do. The Narragansett Cafe still has its original horseshoe-style bar, which contributes to the welcoming, community atmosphere.

The ‘Ganny

The Narragansett Cafe has had its fair share of nicknames: The’ Ganny, The Narry… and way back in the day, The Bucket of Blood. No matter what you call it, it’s the best spot in town for good food, good music, and good times.

Happy 'Ganny Goers

Had a great time! The band was out of this world, and the food was good as well. The crowd was a mix from people in their late 30’s to their 70’s. The people were awesome. Can’t wait to go back!

Best old school bar, please never change! I love the old horseshoe bar, so rare these days. Great local atmosphere and people!

I have been coming to The ‘Ganny for over 50 years. It has always been a gathering place for great people, drinks, and music. Great bands, no cover charge. Thankfully the owners have made it a priority to maintain The ‘Ganny’s culture. Come experience the vibe of this unique bar!
